Football General Talk

Naw. It's easy. We all knew it was over after the first drive. Predictability makes it easy.
After the second drive I was relieved that Darnold was able to turn himself around and have his head in the game. Getting the ball out quicker and hitting his targets. Not for the sake of actually winning the game or even being competitive in it, but at least for his own sake, that he could turn from an abysmal outing in a huge game and get back at it in the next.

O-line took a huge step back. I’m not sure how they got so bad so quickly, but they got man-handled by Rams’ D. 9 sacks, yeouch.

yeah, the o-line. There wasn't much talk about the o-line. Troy-Joe really just laid it on the feet of Darnold, but he was getting killed back there.

In the end, this was still about 6 more wins than I expected this season. I'll take it.

Keep your bar low, Vikings fans. Keep it low and every season will be a good one. We ain't the Bears!

I don't know.. I wasn't a fan of Darnold going down 9 flipping times though reality, Darnold had more than enough time to hold the darn ball too long. Usually, that is a testament to the O-line. In this case, I think it is 30% O-line, 70% Darnold holding the ball far too long. Kept wanting Jefferson, long and epic and bypassing quick 5-8 yard quick throws.

This observation is based on my skilled:

Heard that at some point his average time to sack was 4.5 seconds and Stafford’s time to release was 2.5. 6 or 7 of those were absolutely on Sam. He would not throw the ball. I can only assume he reverted back to “I am seeing ghosts” mode.
