Football General Talk

Out of everyone he's the one I have the most confidence in completing the mission.

Maybe Burrow if they get in.

Not Lamar
Goff. He is so consistent, unlike Allen and somewhat unlike Mahomes (this year).

The media darlings are, and will be, KC and Bullalo. But I think the Lions are the team to win ot all.

I haven’t watched much football at all but I have not seen a team that can match the lions physical play. If they lose it’s going to be because of some boneheaded risk that Dan Campbell took like going for it on 4th and 1 from their own 45 or something.

Allen is their most valuable player twice over.

Gloves off risk taking playoff allen will be fine willing the bills over the chiefs this year.

The chiefs are a complete fluke this year. They do not seem unbeatable anymore and i think their luck runs out even with the 1 seed.

My dream is bills/lions :)

When Allen tries to do it all, it off fails. Ditto with Lamar, but not Mahomes.

Chiefs/Vikes for SB. I absolutely love seeing the eastern time zone and western time zone teams on the sidelines.

Chiefs are my SB favorite until someone can come and take it from them, I know better than to bet against Mahomes at this point.

Really pulling for the Bills if the Pack doesn’t get it (which is highly unlikely… this year). However, they have not proven they can win anything important- same can be said for Lamar and the Ravens.

Many teams enter panic mode and turn desperate. There's a few teams that turn high octane when the pressure builds.

Since 2020 one team has taken SB rings home 3 of 4 occasions. That's 4 seasons of high octane team play.

Here they are once again. 15-1. Going for a three-peat, hat trick, a fat turkey - three in a row!

Thats epic. That's a true rally team. The Reid factor + QB leadership who pumps that team into overdrive. The whole team jumps on board when chit hits the fan.

Not my rah, rah team though admire their stretch of victories.

Thats no fluke.

Who should they fear?
Looks like the have the talent and confidence, but also fortitude.
Lions, Eagles, Packers, Rams & TB good enough to beat us on any given Sunday. On a neutral field I would only have the Eagles as a favorite over us. As for AFC opponent in Super Bowl. Chiefs, Bill & Ravens are good enough to beat us. I would probably have all three of them as neutral field favorites.

Well, they have have had that look before. So I would say they should fear Atlanta, for sure. And maybe a bunch of others.

But I'm ready for them to break my heart and that's okay. I did not think they would be good enough that I would have any heart in the game at all by this point in the season. Right now they are tied for the best record in football. That, in itself, is pretty amazing.

What would qualify as "heart breaking" now? Anything short of winning the Superbowl?

All I can say is that I am looking forward to next week's game with a lot more interest and excitement than I anticipated, 4 months ago. I am very happy to be wrong about this.
Of all the NFC playoff teams (if Atlanta even makes it in, which seems unlikely at this point) the Falcons are by far the weakest opponent.

Pre-injuries Lion were reasonable bet to hoist the Lombardi, but after all their injuries I have a hard time seeing them beat Phili, Bills, Chiefs, or Ravens. And Vikes are a coin toss.

Or like playing his starters on a meaningless Monday night and risking another major injury. If Goff, Jahmyr or St. Brown get hurt he should be fired on the spot.

Just hard to bet against Mahomes and Jones when it matters.

Last words from Torico tonight, “and the Falcons never got to put their offense on the field in overtime”.
Two great solutions entirely in their control - go for two at the end of regular time or get a defensive stop. It's a regular season game - no need for overtime with tired players. If I was the NFL I would go back to straight ties in the regular season.
