Football General Talk

Bobby is revered by pretty much all his peers and colleagues. But your right what do they know...I'll listen to the random armchair forum guy instead. Listen to guys who played for Bobby and tell me that the overwhelming majority didn't feel respected.
There is a whole psychology around folks who tolerated, stood by quietly, or suffered horrible behavior justifying or supporting it with hindsight, so not surprised about the relatively small number of former players that defend him. He literally coached over a thousand of players and please point me to the 750+ (overwhelming majority) who whole heartedly support him?

But there is clear documentation that he literally choked a young player under his leadership; threw a vase at (and nearly connected) a young university secretary who angered him; he broke the nose and dislocated the shoulder of his own son in a simple disagreement; he attacked and knocked out a report he didn't like. And now I am tired of doing your googling for you. But this man is a menace.

As a winning coach some bobos want to respect him. If he was an average working class guy his neighbors would despise him and he would likely have been in jail multiple times. We live in a weird world of fantasy narratives. But hey, Mussolini made the train run on time . . . . (or did he); lots of former teammates loved OJ, Jeff Dahmer was a quiet and respectful neighbor. Not sure that is how folks should be judged.

But I am now moving back to football -- good luck to the Bobcat, Bison, Jackrabbit and Coyotes -- I hope the best 4 make it to the next round -- it makes for great football.

I don't need Google to disagree.
