Football General Talk

Serious question and I think a lot of people are wondering even though the cowboys won today…how many games until McCarthy is fired and does Jerry go after Deion before or after Colorado’s bowl game?
McCarthy will be gone at the end of the year. I thought that the first day of the season. mtmuley

It's crazy to think that it's the old vet running backs Henry and Barkley dominating the backfired this day in age where running backs appear to be easily replaceable with younger legs.

Whether some like or dislike the Cowboys, to each his/her own.

Buddy and i were chatting about our boys. For chits n grins here's my thought for Cowboys progression to SB kingdom.

We, (Cowboys fan) need our tactics tweeked refreshed. New brains in that department. New tactician(s) and someone to spark the motivation into a reasonably smooth shifting gear ratio.

Dak stays. Move on with debate over Dak getting axed. Foolishness with his salary to play the thought of replacing. Debate his pay - end of the day, he's locked in.

McCarthy axed. More than enough opportunity to shift whatever rookie or pawn (for you pigeon analysts) to make playoff grade potential.

The Dion factor: Valiant Colorado flip of NCAA boys wanting to learn and no salary cap rosters is pretty sweet though compared to old dog / new tricks and problematic $$$ boys, if hed move:

*It's about heart. A motivator that develops team allegiance leaders (plural intended). Start with him or others and have that person involved in evaluating the many assistant O/D/ST coaches and coordinators/tacticians that would bite at the opportunity w/ the Cowboys. Maybe Dion is that guy - maybe he has that mojo the Cowboys need.

Trades to improve longevity talent?

Parsons. Haters of this thought are gonna hate though Parsons is looking at the highest (non QB) salary boom. While he is great - a couple (three?) first round picks would be a nice refresher and salary cushion vs the expected boom $$$ hit.

Then there's the upcoming draft...

Anyone good that are not great on the first round horizon that Dallas can catch? I don't follow enough college ball to know. Though draft is an art for GM/owners, at least according to a re-run of Draft Day.

See? Much has been learned from Hollywood for my armchair GM perspective. 😂

And... on other football news:

Mahomes has to throw a few pennies in the NFL slush fund for his celebratory "violent gesture" $14k...

And... that's the way it is.

A non sequitur to puzzle upon -- not including any future salary or guarantees, how much money has Daniel Jones earned in the NFL (not including endorsements etc either)?

$108 million. Not bad for being the consistently 26th best QB in the league. And I would guess he makes another $60m before he is done.
