Deion only had 9 pick 6's in his entire 14 year career. DeRon Bland gets 5 in a season - the first 11 games of the season. So he couldn't have been that great.

Part of me wants to feel really bad for what happened to the Vikings last night. Then the other part smacks my head, knocks me back to my senses and I smile in the pleasure that game gave me

Whether it be injuries, non stop self promotion, ubiquitous league marketing, creeping pay per view...the product is not reconciling with the hype...nor the ticket price.

When it works it is outstanding, when not it can be painful to watch. But not sure that watching bad games in the 70s (like the infamous “Bay of pigs” game between hideous Green Bay and Tampa Bay teams) were a better product than last night’s Bears/Vikings mess.

What is unique about recent times is that between cable, streaming, Thursday/Sunday/Monday night nationwide games, RedZone and fantasy football mania, we see (and care about) a lot bigger portion of the games - games in the past most of us would have never seen.

no I do. The goal of a DB is to prevent the receiver from catching the ball and even more so, actually catch the ball yourself. The most picks he even had in a season was 7 which over 100 defensive players have been able to accomplish.

No...just using the good ole concept of "there is always a stat to defend your point".

To paint the whole picture, interceptions is just 1 of three things that I would think defines a DB. Interceptions, catch rate of balls thrown in coverage and percentage of overall balls thrown your way in coverage. I don't feel like looking up the two other main stat items but I would guess that Primetime is highly up on those two lists of the best.

FWIW I would put Darrel Green and Rod Woodson ahead of neon Dion - but no doubt he backed up his trash talk and is comfortably in the top 5 of any serious list.

And the Jets will be on TNF 12-28. I feel sorry for the Jets but cringe at how many SNF/MNF slots theyve had. Wish nfl would have flexed them out
