A couple photos from this weekend of Flehmen response in a ram and a muley buck.
When a buck or ram detects scent from a doe near seaons, he will curl his upper lip back and pass the pheromone-laden aroma through the vomeronasal organ in the roof of his mouth.
I had 3 whitetail bucks working a doe last week and thought of this thread. I wanted to get a picture of one doing this, but I wanted to shoot the biggest one and I really couldn't afford the time to get my phone out. As it turns out, they never did this that I could see and I shot the biggest one, so there is that!
