I can't imagine what Missoula would look like if there was no Austin to take some of the overflow. Probably a lot like Portland. Thanks Austin!Missoula on theBrazosColorado.

Dont forget to turn the lights off before you leave California this fall. You will be the last one there. Our shelves in California are well stocked with paper products again... in case you fellas need something to wipe those sniveling noses
I know this is a joke thread, and thats what California has become to the rest of the country. Just remember, a large amount of Californians (myself included) share the same passion and respect for the outdoors that many of you do. Don't make broad generalizations. Don't behave like those "children" we all encounter in the elk woods that claim public land drainages are their own private hunting grounds. And lastly, make an effort to take a California transplant in your city and introduce him to your way of living (if he's willing of course).
I'll see you fellas this fall.. I have a MT general tag hahah
Just what I want to do. Mentor a Californian. mtmuleyAnd lastly, make an effort to take a California transplant in your city and introduce him to your way of living (if he's willing of course).

I shudder when I remember my attire from my college tour 30 years ago. I was wearing a Cal-Berkeley sweatshirt when I stopped to talk to the guys who had just turned out a boxful of hounds on a lion track Highway 12 near Lolo Pass. I think they were speechless when I started talking hunting with them....Interesting to see the people from California around town. Many don't even try to blend in. They wear the "Cali" hats and T-shirts. As if they are bragging about being from there. I guess they don't understand that most people see that and want them to go back.

Very well put. I too feel/felt that way for a long time. And that it is a free nation for anyone to live where they desire. And I still do for the most part. But I think you would feel differently if the situation was reversed for you. A Californian mentality typically wants someone else to go the extra mile for them. Kind of like everyone owes them something for screwing up their own state by electing incompetent people to run it into the ground. And by creating unrealistic laws for their citizens to conform to. Then, in joining a new and fresh community, they try to change the new place to fit their expectations of what they were taught or trained to believe is a better way. Sad, and I hate to feel that way. But it is what it is.
You make a good argument, but it probably won't change anyone's opinion anytime soon.
The bears will murder you, but (again), 60% of the time, these work every time.I think Mandy knows what's up as well.

There's really no way to not be offensive about the topic of Californicating other places. It generally not those that enjoy the outdoor sporting life but it's happened to every state nearby, WA, OR, NV and now to other places where they are scattering to. I wouldn't mind if the politically active ones left their politics at home, but they don't. The scenario, every time, is to leave CA because they've had it and then recreate the same stinking mess they left elsewhere. I loved living in NV until recently. NV used to be a place where people didn't whine about things in general. Now, it's a blue state and there are negative changes being brought about by blue politics. Great news for you that live in ID, MT, WY, etc., haven't decided yet but we'll eventually be leaving here to live there once our boy is done with HS.
