Got some questions for you Montana residents, as this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Whereabouts is this lake located, and what kinds of fish can you catch in it?

Living in the Rockies I’ve seen some clear lakes before, but this is a whole other level. Amazing.

EDIT: Foiled by the internet again! Not actually Flathead Lake apparently, Still want to check it out though

how did you pull these pictures?

does google not work in canada?

Just kind of making conversation with fellow hunters, kind of what this sub forum is for. Hearing personal anecdotes from people who have been there, that share alot of my interests and who I trust more than google, would help on deciding if its worth the trip.

Does it pay off to walk around with a sour mentality all the time? Is it fun for you?

Not sure where these pics were taken or if any are actually on Flathead. Google suggests the second one is tagged to several different locations in Europe. The first also seems suspect based on the boat's markings.

Yes the water is pretty clear on Flathead usually though I think some of those potential locations are actually fairly shallow and possibly dry with the current water level of the lake.

Funny you started this thread. My wife and I were just talking about next year doing a late summer trip to flathead for 4-5 days for something different to spend a few days fishing whitefish and then lots of other fun stuff to do with the kids in the area I’m sure too.

It'a a very large fresh water lake, most popular and populated one in Montana. There is an abundance of information about Flathead Lake on the internet. It's kind of strange and a joke to Montana HTers that you would think it unusual or seek information here.
BTW. your photos don't depict typical Flathead Lake scenery ... so error of some sort is suspected.

I suspect none of these pictures are from Flathead Lake. Lake McDonald is much clearer that Flathead. Flathead is a very busy place with little to no public shoreline.

Flathead Lake is a wonderful body of water and you should enjoy it, but don't expect those photos because they ain't Flathead Lake. Maybe the hand in the water, but not the ones with the boats. Flathead Lake has very clean water because it's fed by the west half of Bob Marshall Wilderness and Glacier Park, there is not much industry upstream and because it's very cold. There are a handful of state parks around Flathead Lake but they are very busy in the summer. Most fishing is for lake trout, which are plentiful but can be tough to catch without boats and specialized gear. There are also small mouth bass, cutthroat and bull trout, perch and pike in the system.

I thought the water was just as clear in Southern B.C. last summer.
I know the OP operates in a semi vegetative haze, but be aware of the high potential for summer smoke at Flathead.View attachment 329278

Bud, you're an absolute loser. Who is that scared of a plant they bring up threads made months ago lol maybe you should try some, it would make you a more pleasant person to deal with.

I have actually now been informed these are pictures of a lake in the Land of Wind and Ghosts.
