First time load for my 7mm08

While not what your asking, it could prove helpful if the 150eld x route doesn't pan out....I tried to find a load with 150 gr bullet in my sons 7-08. In my case I tried partitions and accubonds with H4350 and Varget. I couldn't find a combo it liked. I switched to 140 grain and got sub 1" with both powders.

I went the 150gr rout because my rifle didn't do the 140 well with factory rounds. I was using federal 140gr soft tip. I switched to the 150gr and had better groupings. After I bought a box of Hornady Precision Hunter 150gr and got even better groups. I didn't see the advantage in factory rounds when I had a reloader. It just seemed like a good weekend hobby.

For 140gr Accubonds I would use RL17 or PP2000MR for speed, RL16 For Cold bad weather.

Hunter shoots good in my Tikkka ,as does W760. Big Game is accurate but a little slower.

You can use the RL22 if you are willing to use a compressed load. I would use a 160gr bullet. In

fact I loaded some and got 2762 FPS. Actually I like 140gr grain bullets for hunting bigger game and

120gr Barnes TTSX for deer at 3050FPS plus.

I love the Varget powder. I and my father in law have used it for multiple calibers, but I cannot get it to shoot accurately out of my Savage Axis II in 7-08. My FIL has a Tikka ultralight that it shoots well out of. My best loads have come with H4350 and W760. My gun loves both of them with 140 gr Sierra GameKings and 139 gr Hornady SST and GMX bullets.

120gr Barnes TTSX for deer at 3050FPS plus.

That powder I used was RL26 not RL22 that is correct velocity for RL26 with 160 gr bullets. The other

powder I tryed was MRP actually about 10 or 15FPS faster than the RL26 but was a hot load and very compressed. RL26 is

the best powder. You might try it with 150gr bullets, I have some 154gr Interbonds loaded with RL26 But have not shot them

yet. I did load RL17 with the 154gr Interbonds and got 2802FPS. Same load of RL16 gave 2702 FPS.

I am getting ready to load some ttsx 120s. Are there any guys that have some nice loads that may involve the powders I have on hand? With the issues of getting hands on reloading supplies just thought I'd work with what I have. I have IMR 4350, H1000, Accurate 4350 as we speak that may work. The Barnes site doesn't list any of these powders for the 120.

I have used Bid Game, RL17, and W760 for 120gr Barnes TTSX or Nosler 120gr Ballistic tip. They work great in my Tikka.
