Surprisingly we will be able to pull off a family trip out west this year. We will be in western Colorado, Teton, and Yellowstone. I have fished Yellowstone before and prefer the smaller streams like the galatin, upper gibbon, indian, and soda butte. I'm not opposed to large streams just more my style. I am not a trophy guy as much as catch a mess to eat and let the rest go. I was curious of some recommendations for streams in the Tetons. It will be our first time fishing there and don't have enough time for trial and error.

Any stream recommendations near Newcastle Co? Likely won't have time there because there is a spot in the mountains very special to my wifes family so that is the primary objective. But you never know what can happen.

Also, what is the state of grayling creek in YNP? I know the restocked cuts and grayling but is the stream fishable? I would live to finally catch a grayling.

Thanks in advance.

A float trip through Grand Teton NP on the Snake River is pretty epic but this is a very large river. You can also wade some spots of it pretty well. If you'd like a smaller stream experience head up into the Gros Ventre mountains and hike into Crystal Creek. An insanely beautiful place to catch native cutties, and they can get big. The Hoback River south of town is a great quick trip that you don't have to hike into. Also, Granite Creek feeds the Hoback and you can get into some brookies there too. That place is amazing.
