We’re headed up to horse Creek north of Dubois on Sunday for the week. See if we can’t find a big bull. Ryan will get first options. We’re getting moisture yesterday and today so that should knock down the pack trail fire, and the smoke.

Well, it took us awhile, but my son filled his first elk tag. Cow/calf tag in 117 N of Newcastle. We worked in on a bugling bull and he gave up an old dry cow to us out of his harem! One shot, 250 yds through the lungs. 200 gr. Ballistic tip. 338 win mag out of his AV Sako. She dropped instantly, raised her head and that was it. We had a drag of 20 yds to a tree, pulled her up after dressing her out, backed the F350 right under her. @40 yds off of a two-track. 2 weeks prior he tried to get a shot off at one in a deadfall area.
