I reached out to several members on here for tips and guidance for my first New Mexico elk hunt. I was able to connect with one heck of a bull opening morning of muzzle loader. 40 yard shot. Probably will be tough for me to top this one. Thanks for everyone that gave input. He scored 336” as a 7x6. Would have been 349” if he wouldn’t have broke that right 3rd off. Wild hunt and I’ll never forget it.

I’ve never felt closer to God in those mountains for sure!

Great bull! Congratulations! Shame about the broken G3. Are you doing a shoulder mount or a skull mount?

Heck of a first elk, you are right, it may be hard to top, but sure you will try. May not really want to though, because they are so good to eat and fun to hunt.

I’ve only hunted whitetail here in Oklahoma, so going out and doing something like this was truly hunting. It’s what I’ve been desiring. I enjoyed everything about it
