So much fun! The children had fun too, I can see this becoming a regular family outing. The dog has no idea what's in store for him though, they have been making plans all the way home to train him to participate.

I'm really happy with my shotgun It's a CZ over under in 20 gauge and was a surprise present from my husband after he saw me admiring it in the gun store.

The CZ should do nicely. Back during my guiding days I had a client show up with a matched pair of Holland & Holland Royal side side 12 guage. $40 K worth of guns. He let me shoot one of them on the clays course we had. Those were a different kind of gun. Amazing just to hold, much less shoot. I’ll never own one but beware should you ever get the chance to shoot one.
Nothing like birds and dogs, easy to have the kids join in. I think you are probably already addicted to the upland game. Welcome.
