This is one of the original graphite rods when Fenwick was moving into graphite rods from fiberglass. This rod is made in America before everyone started outsourcing everything to Asia. Fenwick set the standard in fly fishing when they had their school by West Yellowstone and were on top of the fishing world. This is one of those older, but still good rods that you can fish and enjoy without breaking the bank...$99.00

Are the ferrules metal? Hard to tell from the photo. I seem to recall many of the early graphite rods had metal ferrules. Not that it made a huge difference. Though I suppose for less rigid weight rods maybe metal might be more prone to break ahead of the ferrule?
