Feel the quake?

The news is reporting the entire town of Lincoln was destroyed. Damage estimates are ~$3,500.

Being surrounded by volcanoes, cindercones & such & finding out there is a major fault that runs thru here & 3 states gives one pause....& grateful I'm not right off the SA fault anymore, nor nearer YS.....read that I'm right in the fallout area from the last big blow from YS...LOL
I have not felt a real shaker in NM,yet, but the lightning is more than enough for excitement....but a fireworks show too would be different....

Got rocked pretty good in Missoula and also felt a strong aftershock.

After growing up in California along the San Andreas and experiencing earthquakes from time to time, it just felt like home and wasn't exactly a new experience.

I had a 108 pound dog blanket on me after the second one hit. Lots of waves between the two, and then the last aftershock I felt around 1:30.

Sad, low energy earthquake. Not good!

I've only ever experienced one small quake here in Ohio. I believe it was around a 3.8-4 or so. I only remember it because my brother and I were in a archery shoot out and he says that it threw off his equilibrium and that was the only reason I won. Sore loser, he is. Anyways, check this out; I always liked reading about this quake here in the eastern half of the US.

Probably had a mess load of backpack campers wizz themselves in Glacier Nat'l Park. I'm up here working and felt the sway for a few...
I was visiting family in Woodland Hills California during the Northridge 6.8 earthquake back, I don't know, twenty five years or so maybe even a bit longer... that was a wild ride.

here's a cool link from Discovery Channel that record earthquakes and people can place their location at the time of the quake and place a remark about the experience. https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/earthquakes/today.html

The whole family slept right through it here in the Madison Valley. Several other folks in town said they were awoken by it. All of our family in MS called to check on us this morning and we were like "what earthquake?"

I texted the kid down in Island Park about it. He didn't say anything, so maybe not much down there. All he would care about is how it affects the trout bite anyway.
