I wanted a fox red when I got my Molly. She is dark enough. She gets a pink nose in the winter when it’s cold and it change back to black in the summer time.

Interesting article. I really liked this part.

“I call them ‘silveristas,’ because I consider these people to be a dilute terrorist organization that is undermining the integrity of the breed,” Wilson says. “And it’s not to better the breed at all, it’s to somehow give them credibility with the unsuspecting public.”

The weirdest and dumbest creature I’ve ever belly-rubbed, beside myself, was a silver lab.

I had never heard about a pink nose and light color around the eyes being undesirable genetically, but I have never cared about genetic purity outside of health issues.

Dog breeds evolve over time, and many dilute Lab fans argue that breeders like Stalnaker are responsibly meeting consumer demand.

This is not true if you hold to a strict breed standard.

Slash is mixed.

Howie just turned 1 year old last week. His dad is extremely red in color. His mother looks about like him, not full red but not yellow either. He's been a great dog but did go through some major shoulder surgery at 6 months. He recovered really well. The Corgi is a month older and still a little butthole.
