EG,
I guess I can't say I disagree with 100% of his positions. The ones that are important to me I disagree with him on almost 100%. His core beliefs of the role of government conflict with mine. When he makes statements like he can win the war on terrorism that makes me think he is still inhaling. Bush and Rumsfield both, correctly, said we are currently winning the war but it will take generations to defeat it. Long answer to a simple question.
Also for Mrs. Heinz-Kerry go back and read what I said. I don't hold it against her at all. If more people would speak there mind like she did it would make us all a better country. I said that with that kind of scrutiny every day who would want to be president and first lady?
The deficit is a moving target that flucuates up and down. The national debt is of more concern but it increases regardless who is in office. The off budget debt is even a scarier thing for my kids. But if I trade $3,100, every year, in my pocket to invest and grow for my children to inherit it most likely it will exceed the $5,000 in future deficit payments that they are burdened with. Also if they become productive, tax paying citizens they will simply pay back far more then that amount.
That $400 per child check was a great gimmick as all it did was give me money I would have gotten back at tax time. So I don't view it as a bonus.
Buzz,
Don't rush out and have any tricylce motors just to enjoy all the tax benefits. My kids are all heavy duty users of my household resources and any tax advantage I recieve is quickly gobbled up to feed, house and clothe them. I will say that being dad has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done but it sure isn't cheap.
