I would see it as a double edged sword. Although it might help US manufactured vehicles be more competitive at face value, much of the raw materials and components used to manufacture those vehicles are still imported and thus would increase their costs.

My gut says this is more about kissing the ring and garnering favor thru public statements than anything else.

If you have a niche it can be a great place to get information about various topics. Large and popular groups are notorious echo chambers and I would guess the ratio of bots would be staggeringly high if it could be shown.
