I have never listened to Rogan, so I can't say anything, one way or the other.

But, this cutting is NOT about balancing the budget. It is all about extending the expiring tax cuts. All of the cuts come from the petty cash portion of the budget. They are the areas of the budget that has been scrutinized for a long time, since there is limited pushback, when they trim there.

The big portions of the budget are medicare/medicaid, social security, defense and interest on the national debt. We can't really do anything about one of those, other than paying down on the debt. If we are to balance the budget, entitlements and the defense budget are the only places where there the dollars are enough, to significantly reduce our deficits.

Trump's first term was disastrous regarding deficits, adding to our national debt. It would be a mistake to think this term will be any different.

I enjoyed Joe Rogan on Season 1 of News Radio. Anything after that is a hard pass from me.

In my opinion there is no redeeming qualities to Elon Musk or the illegal work he is doing at DOGE right now.

This work should be done by Congress and with majorities in both chambers, there is no reason the Rs couldn't do it. But they don't want to do their jobs and be held accountable to their constituents.

There is a very good example of how a process of government efficiency can be achieved from the Clinton administration. It was all done legally with cooperation of the Legislative and Executive branch. That is not what is happening here.

Maybe question why someone in Washington can’t fart without ending up tied up in court yet they haven’t really slowed doge down for the most part.

At some point the American media consumer leaned into a synergy between news and entertainment. Much falls into the category of pure entertainment now, including all the networks you mentioned. Everyone seems to be the most entertained by their own outrage. Et voila, there’s a financial incentive to keep suckers tuned in by manufacturing outrage.

It’s disappointing that we’ve gone from the rigorous debate of William F. Buckley Jr. hosting Firing Line to whatever it is we have now.

I used to listed to a lot of Joe Rogan. Still do every now and again when he has an interesting guest. It seems like most of the episodes devolve into the same things nowadays. Vaccines, MMA and how democrats are bad. I haven't listened to the Elon one, but if it is anything like the Trump episode, I imagine there is a lot of praise and very little critique.
