Hard to not post photos with beautiful mountain backdrops but its really easy to pinpoint exactly where people are when they do that. The sunset silhouettes are the worst/hardest not to post.

My first bull. November, 2023 oregon spike only tag. Watched the herd on private for 30 mins before they crossed onto public and gave me a shot. Very nice six point in the herd that I’m hoping to find this year now that I drew the branch bull tag for that unit.

My first bull elk and first archery hunt. The wife did some great calling and pulled a herd in range, but I never had a clean shot at the herd bull. He ran off to round up his cows when this nice 5x5 satellite crept in and stopped 30yds broadside. Editing to add that it was in beautiful Northern NM in the National Forest. The 1.5 mile uphill packout at 10k elevation was taxing.

My 16 year old boy is showing me up. He had already passed on some spikes. Pulled him out of school because I new this bull was hitting a wallow. I can't pass an elk up so I was already tagged out on a raggy. I am so damned proud of this boy. He and the bull are beasts.
