Hi there, i am new to the western hunting world and had a question about an upcoming hunt. I am hunting CO OTC, 2nd rifle with a friend of mine.
Our thought is to split up so as to cover more ground. However, if one of us is fortunate enough to kill an elk, we'll need the other guy's help to dismantle and start packing out.
So, my question is how do you experienced hunters capitalize on having two people? (Is it best to set meeting times and waypoints to touch base during the day? Or do you hunt solo all day and convene at the end of the day?)
I just want to be efficient about using two sets of eyes and legs to our advantage, but also maintain some proximity and connection to my partner so that if anything good or bad happens we can be there to help each other.
Hope this isn't a stupid or unanswerable question. Thanks all!
