I found this on the bowsite and thought I would post it.
I think the part about the Iragi police stepping up is huge. This is what happens when you give people ownership of their destiny. My wife had a call from one of her friends over there and he said basically the same thing.-------Original Message------- From: XXXus.army.mil Date: 07/20/04 09:13:56 To: XXXXXXX Subject: Re: just a hidey hi Hey Lady Mom, Glad to hear that Isaac and his family could make it out. Kim has to be completely thrilled! Not much new going on here, just running missions on the norm. Sent along some pics of us "T-ing Off" during a BBQ this last weekend. One of the guys brought over a driver and a five gallon bucket of golf balls. It was pretty fun, and funny to watch all of us who don't golf take about five swings before we hit a ball. Also, a couple of pics of me during radio training. Things are actually getting a little better here, the insurgents are targeting more of the Iraqi police and military rather than us. However, since the turn over of power the Iraqi's are taking it very personally. Therefore they are responding to the terrorists very seriously and ruthlessly. We've learned that the majority of the isurgents are NOT Iraqi's but other Arabic people. The Iraqi's are very addiment about the fact that they are NOT Arabic and that they are very different people. They can tell the difference between themselves and Arabs like we can between whites and blacks, mexicans, asians, ect. To them there is that much physical difference in appearance. We know all this because our linguist assigned to our team was born in Iraq and has family members still here. He is cool as hell and has been living in the states since he was 19, he's 47 now. Anyway... enough of all that. Pass on my love to everyone else and tell them howdy for me. Lots-O-Love XXX
