Took my boy down to the river to try and catch some catfish. While I was setting up Drake was exploring around the sandbar. He found a plastic bottle and was shaking it around. The rattling sound caused him to open it up and out pops a used syringe.
We didn't catch any this day but have caught a few there.

Sad state of things these days. Glad he didn't get nicked.

Used to live in Seattle, and a few years ago a massive community-led cleanup was organized, in part, because orange needle caps had been found in the guts of cleaned out salmon that were on their way up the Skagit river and tributaries. Awful stuff, couldn't pay me enough to go back there.

I’ve had the “pleasure “ of cleaning up homeless camps a couple of times. Seeing needles planted sharp up around bedding areas says it all.

In 22 years total, I cleaned up so much crap as a Park Ranger. Literally. & dead people.
Another reason I hate needles.
& people.
