I’m thinking about their 4884 4wt for alpine lake trips.

I have that same rod and I love it! Not a rocket launcher, more of a finesse rod. Super light and will even through a double taper 3 wt. line. I'm a 4 wt. guy and have 3 other Scott 4 wts. and a Fisher Original 9' 4 wt., so I like the slow/moderate action rods. My other 4 wts. are 2 piece, except for a Scott fiberglass, so the upstream 4 wt. gets backpacked into the lakes. I always take a backup faster rod or a 5 wt. for the wind!
