Dog First Aid Kits

I love these threads. There is always something listed that I hadn’t thought about. Very helpful!

Montana K9 Safety puts on trap release clinics and first aid classes around the state if anyone in MT is looking for some training.

Ended up building my kit as I like to do things the hard way! It was time consuming, but a little cheaper for exactly what I wanted. Some items I included that I didn't see listed yet are a fabric muzzle and a small slip lead which I keep with me in the field. The slip lead can be used to assist in releasing a trap or getting a dog away from danger such a a porcupine or snake.

Great thread with some useful info. I never carried a med kit for my dog. He was bit on the hind leg by a rattlesnake once and I just happened to get him the vaccine that year. Also found a porcupine and got dead tail. Pretty much always ended up at the vet.

Only thing I did regularly was use udder balm on his paws the day before we hunted, and every morning after as preventative maintenance.
