So I shot a bull in Wyoming last week (outside of Jackson) and my buddy and I were packing the last two quarters the next day. We hiked out on an unmarked trail and about a mile from the road we came up on a couple Jackson folk walking their dogs. The dogs weren't on a leash and instantly started running in on my buddy and I. I kind of stopped thinking the dog would slow down and start wagging it's tail, but no, it came in on me and bit me in the calf. I fell over with the hind quarter strapped to my back and it started coming in again, luckily my buddy drop kicked the little #itch! I got up and was able to use my trekking poles to deter it from coming in on me again. The owners kept yelling for the dog but it wouldn't listen. I finally said to the owner, "IF THIS DAMN DOG BITES ME AGAIN I'm SHOOTING THE #itch." He finally came up between us and the dog but it kept running for us. I wish I would of thought to spray her with my bearspray, But I guarantee if my kids were around the ol 10mm would of had an appearance.

Has anyone had something like this happen. What would you have done? Luckily I had some gators and pants on so the dog didn't break skin. I think it was some sort of australian cattle dog.

My dad got attacked by a pack of dogs that were either strays or poorly trained and allowed to run amuck. Once one bit it was a frenzy. Needed a bunch of stitches. Dog runs up on me aggressively I'm getting ready to kick it in the snout at least.

That's a good call. I've never had a dog come at me like that but I'll definitely be more prepared next time.

I’ve always said pistols are useless weight.
Yeah, I never carry one either. I'm a bear spray guy but I had my buddies on my hip and I did put my hand on it the second time the dog came in on me. Was on a steep uphill with a safe background growling at me. The owner started running up so I backed off. Like I said, if my daugter was there, I would've really considered it.

My mom was bit on the ankle recently by a pit bull mix while walking with my 12 year old niece and her puppy. It made a deep puncture that ended up getting infected and required 3 rounds of antibiotics and a wound care specialist. But she was glad it was her and not my niece.

Call the authorities and report it. Only a matter of time until it bites someone else, and it may be worse next time.

You know that wasent the first time thats happened. The owner needs to either keep it home or end it.

In my neighborhood we have an family with a couple German shepherds. They get out of the house and yard all the time. One day my wife and kids and I were walking down the side walk and this dog came running up on us full bore down the street bearing teeth, not even barking. Wife got my attention I turned around, couldnt have timed it any better and punted that dog in the dome like a NFL punter. KO.

I escalated like that cause I've seen this dog attack others before. By the way, they tend to be like their owner, this owner happened to be a piece of sh#% as well. Says he's a navy seal... yea ok

Drop kick and then a curbie. Do the neighborhood a favor.

Nobody in this world can control their dogs anymore it seems. I Definitely would’ve called the authorities. Might have shot the thing if it came back for round 2.
This seems to be getting worse, especially with the "fur baby crowd"
Leave your dog in the truck or at home. Tired of seeing dogs inside every store, at restaurants, in hotels, etc. Travel with your dog? Great leave it in the truck until AFTER YOU HAVE CHECKED IN.
I better go take my medicine, this subject gets me going....
