We have been very busy getting settled in Alaska. We got a quick trip in to Prince of Wales again and it was great. It is a nice consolation prize while we are waiting very impatiently to become residents. Bambistew's posts don't make the wait any easier, but we are there come November (just in time for the AK hunting draws).

The salmon didn't cooperate as much as we would have liked, but everyone caught enough in freshwater and salt to have fun. The halibut fishing was great, shrimping was good, crabbing fair. We saw lots of bears and had some crazy cool whale encounters (breeching within 150 yards of the boat on two different occasions).

We hunted Sitka deer in the alpine for just one day. After looking over some deer, we found a nice buck and I got my son set up 175 yards above him bedded. We were waiting for him to stand for a shot when a float plane flew over one of the highest peaks on POW and buzzed us at less then 150 yards. Needless to say the buck and six other deer blew out for the trees. My son was disappointed, but handled it well. We decided not many people get to spend a day in awesome country like that and we would try another day.

Have a great season everyone!

Super awesome! Looks like you guys are starting off the freezer filling season great!

Looks like your enjoying Alaska.

Yup, you'll be a resident before you know it. Find me a place yet?

No. Didn't know if we could keep it or eat it. The octopus, shrimp, and dungeness crabs were outstanding though!

Congratulations on the trip and move. The kids are sure getting big. Always enjoy your adventures.
