That is most likely a short chambered Lefevre. Also inspect your barrels very, very carefully before firing. Those are twist steel construction and should be checked over carefully. Most likely an H grade. Should be stamped on the receiver flats.
Thanks for the info and yes its an H grade with the London Twist Steel. I'm currently trying to find a gunsmith that has a dent removal tool as one barrel has a small dent about the size of a BB. One Gunsmith I called said that the tool to remove a dent like that is becoming obsolete and they don't have one. Placed a few more calls yesterday to gunsmiths so hopefully I'll find someone knowledgeable enough to fix that dent and look over the gun before shooting.
 
Absolutely replace it. The rubber has broken down. Happens to old pads all the time. If you want replace with a leather covered pad.

If I can do it, anyone can.


Brent, did you do that skiving bit to get a thin slice of leather?
