Deer Head Stolen

I was thinking the same thing there. who wants someone elses deer? besides a shitty hunter trying to save face with his family 😁

I always carry when hunting and fishing. too many stories of encounters similar to yours.. between people like that and meth heads im not taking any chances. I remember a few years ago a guy was assaulted on a lake I ice fish by 2 guys with snowmobiles just trying to take his equipment! I believe he was carrying so the would be thieves moved right along.
I also had a similar situation while fishing (over 25 years ago). I was at Strawberry reservoir still-water fly fishing. I was just getting to the water and realized I had dropped my net at the truck. I started back and a guy in an old station wagon stopped and was walking around my truck. I was only about 100 yards away and watched him pick up my net and throw it into his car. When I got back to the truck, he had returned and was by the drivers door. He almost crapped himself when he saw me.

I told him I had seen him grab my net and simply asked for it back. He denied taking it for a minute until I told him I watched him. He finally admitted to finding a net down the road and said it might have bounced out of my truck. He offered to get it. He went to the back seat and started to reach into a chest. He was acting sketchy as hell. I got that weird 6th sense and drew my firearm and told him to back away from the car. I told him I was a deputy Sherrif and stated giving hard commands. He didn’t back away until he saw me advancing with my gun drawn.

I ordered him to the ground and had him proned out. When I approached the car there was a AK and he was trying to load a magazine. I ended up holding him at gun point for over 1/2 hour waiting for local deputies to arrive. He kept apologizing and begging me to just let him go. He offered me money etc just begging me to let him go. Turns out he was a felon and a meth head that was breaking into cars of fishermen around the lake.

You never know who you are going to run into out in the field. Please be careful. My 6th sense has saved my butt more than once.
