Just heard an interesting tidbit on the radio. The average American spends 20.8 days total time driving to and from work during a 1 year period based on 50 weeks.[2 weeks off for a holiday]. This is derived from a figure of 1hr to and 1hr back. 2Hrs x 5days = 10hrs x 50 weeks = 500hrs / by 24 hrs = 20.8 days. I worked mine out and came up with 1.73 days behind the wheel based on my 10 minute total commute a day. Leaves me 19.1 days to hump the dog and sell puppies.

LMAO, thats good one ur einstein:D. Leave poor pets alone cops have enough to do:):D

WOW... When I was running my business in Washington, I was in the truck 4-5 hours a day, leaning towards the five....6 days a week... :)
120 hours a month adds up to about five solid days behind the wheel... in traffic for a bunch of it... for 18 years... Man-O-Man... that adds up to a lot of time...

That's too much time for me. thank god I don't drive. I'd rather walk knowing that now than drive unles its a long distance. Besides, the walk may help me lose some of my fat :D

i only drive about 80-90,000 miles per year.do i pick up some of the slack for the guys who drive 5 minutes.and what about people who walk or take mass transit.

tnctcb having been in the heavy truck parts industry for the last 20 yrs I'd say 90%
of the population have no concept of how many miles are logged behind the wheel every day by the transport industry. Funny thing about that is when they take a holiday most of them I know hook on to a holiday trailer and hit the road.
