Danner Boot Sale - 50% Off + Free Shipping

What are your favorite ones ? Limit 8 ? I'm deciding on 8 pr or boots or a horse.... tought desicion ;)

I would buy some, but I like warm, dry, comfortable feet.

I hear that a lot. I haven't had any problems with my Pronghorns but I haven't hunted in steep mountains or Alaska with them either. For the type of use I would put them thru the $90 price works just fine. :hump:

I've put an untold number of miles on my two pair of pronghorns and they lost any waterproof qualities long ago.

I have noticed on my two other pair (not pronghorns....they're insulated and I don't know what model they are) that since I started using gaiters, my feet stay much drier.

I wear danners for work... Made in USA version and they are great! I have bought the cheaper line for hunting boots - the made in... XXX and I had to exchange for another only after a few months... The next set - broke / tore in the same location... simply crap and unfortunately they lost a lot of love from me where early years - they were THE BOOT!

B-Deep, I have considered gaiters for a while... that may be a good suggested XMas gift... any particular type that has minimal noise from brush rubbing - non burr collecting gaiters?

WIth this 50% off - may be a great time to pick up a pair of Made in USA hunting boots...
Thanks for the link, WV Hunter.

I have used Danners for a looong time...but didn't know any better. J/K, my first pronghorns are 8 years old, well worn, but still work fine.

I need a pair that are Waterproof and will stay that way I've bought $50 and $200 pair boots. I alrays wear them out in a season it seams like. But I do have a hard time lifting my feet and are always kicking stuff wit hthe toe so that get's beat up real good.

Kenetrek. I sent you a pm about them too.

Also might want to check these out:

They're kind of a half gaiter I guess. A lot shorter and more lightweight than the Kenetrek ones. I wore them in 18 inches and they made a huge difference on keeping me feet warm and dry. They also work great for bear/shed hunting keeping ticks out.

Thanks guys. Good info.

BTW - Seems I hear people speaking about these pronghorn boots - though seems they are all imported China made... (I hear it deals with the glue application they use that EPA does not permit in the US.)
Are there pronghorns made in the USA? I would fall into the "Bite me twice" deal if I bought another pair of "import" boots from Danner.

Pronghorns are made in China. I had a pair for about a week before I went to Cabela's and swapped them out for the US made equivalent.

The one thing I'll hand the Pronghorns is that they're super lightweight and pretty comfortable. I just can't see how they'd hold up for more than a season tops.

Oh, they'll hold up. You should see mine. I have two pair of them and have just about worn the tread off both pairs. I can't even guess at how many miles are on those two pair. One upland season alone my GPS said I had walked about 200 miles, and it was mostly in those boots. I think I bought them in about 2005? Maybe even 2004.

They are just sooooo comfortable. And definately NOT waterproof. But most of my hunting up through October is dry, so they work just fine.
