I have a Weatherby Vanguard in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 24” barrel. Was thinking to cut and thread the barrel to accommodate my Yankee Hill R2 suppressor. At first I thought 2” but now maybe 4” shorter. Any thoughts ? Thinking at 4” maybe losing 100-150fps which isn’t much

Thanks for the replies. I’ll never shoot beyond 500yds, eyes aren’t good enough 😬

For what it is worth, I am getting 2774fps with a 127gr. Barnes LRX over a fairly spicy charge of H4350 in my 20inch Tikka CTR. Suffice it to say, you can still get plenty of velocity from a 20inch tube.

This is just my truck gun that I keep in there all the time while I’m out roaming around. Shortening it up for the suppressor makes it way more manageable. Mostly coyotes but will be used at times on deer.

I cut my 24" 338 down to 22 and added a suppressor. Went from 71 grains of h4350 at 2850fps down to 69.5 grains at 2892fps. With losing 2 inches of barrel. Wish I would have gone down to 20 now, but 2 inches isn't an issue!

I have a CA 28 Nosler 26” barrel that I use a suppressor on for most of my hunting. Doesn’t really bother me when I’m out hunting even though it’s long. Would be a real pain to use in the truck everyday , thus wanting to shorten the 6.5
