Cotton Bowl...Johnny Heisman

Watching the game now. He is good. My wife is from Texas (southlake/dallas) so I've learned there is everyone and then there is Oklahoma.

First time I have seen him and he's the real deal. I love the "touch" that he has on his passes.

Question: he looks like a Doug Flutie type QB. Will he be big enough for the NFL?

good luck to all

he's 6'1 and about 200 pounds. fluite was what, 4'8 ? :hump:

Manziel admitted to being 72" tall.Awesome game, but I think the pros would beat him up just like Vick.

Sumlin is a helluva coach. A&M looks like a genius with his hire and the the move to the SEC. Lots of young players and a real recruiting doorbreaker.

I agree. It was fun to watch but my thoughts were the same. Most of those runs in the pros would of had him on the sideline with a concussion. Hopefully he can adapt and make some smarter choices so that we can see him for a long while. Great qb.

He isn't quite tall enough to make a living from the pocket. His inclination to run(like Vicks) could result in physical abuse. He is fast,no doubt, with quickness but the DB's at the pro level feast on guys his size. But maybe he has that something extra special.

My boy's a big fan. He had a 50yrd line seat at the Missouri game at A&M while I tailgated. He also got a signed Manziel football and his game towel from the Alabama game for his birthday.. which was oddly enough, the same day he was awarded the Heisman. I don't know jack about football, but since my son's into it, I'm learning.

Very cool Greenhorn, it's easy to get sucked into something you had no interest in when the kids like it. I never miss a NFL game now that my 4yr old is into football.

Sounds like you've learned all you need to know.

Thats an awesome picture. Make sure you get that authenticated now by someone credible. As that could be worth a lot in the future.
Johnny M. has some serious skill and could be great college QB. If he makes it out of college. Hopefully he doesnt get smashed on one of these runs in the future. If he does play like that in the NFL at his size though he wont last long with the speed change. Good thing he is a freshman and has time to learn some new skills.
