So what are you doing to recognize the one document that provides out freedom? Do you discuss the importance with your children? Do you ask your representatives what are they doing to celebrate this day?

Hillsdale College has some nice educational videos on Youtube even for kids.

Schools hardly discuss it any more. My fear is it will be trashed prob in the next generation from lack of knowledge, care, propaganda, etc.

It is very important to learn the original Constitution and be aware of the changes made to it.

Happy Birthday! I hope everyone discusses with their children reminding them why we have our guaranteed freedoms. They do not come from our government.

I think I know maybe one person other than myself who has actually read the constitution. I know plenty of people that seem to think the only thing the constitution says is that we can have guns.

I am pretty sure most of our leaders in Washington have either never read it or just don't give a damn about what it says.

The main thing people need to understand about the constitution is that it was not written to govern the citizens of the United Stated. It was written to govern the government of the United States.

Your stated concerns are valid. Here in Colorado we had elected officials (General Assembly) that stated the Constitution was invalid because some of the writers were slaveowners. Even more hard for me to comprehend was how the majority of voters in said state legislative district supported them.

IMO, if an elected representative swears to support and defend the Constitution as Oath of Office, the state its not valid, they are in violation of their Oath of Office and should be removed.

Hmm...apparently supporting and defending the Constitution does not apply to trump.
