Conservancy supports Harmful Nonnative Weed Control Act

Sure am glad to see that you are still stirring shit MD, that died a couple of days ago.

"Its sure clear what person's ego we are being TOLD to feed on this forum."

You know I've noticed since a couple of weeks ago when people were starting to state they didn't care for the namecalling and all the Bullshit you sort of disappeared except to come back once in a while to throw barbs, as Moosie said "Grow up".

I made it clear that I was responding to someone who had not yet accepted the "Challenge". Here's the first part of the very sentence MD4M quoted:

"And since you didn't sign on to the "Challenge" I'm assuming I don't have to adhere to it when answering your uninformed and very obvious lie about me...."

You know it seems to me that I read a paper from UC Davis that was the result of an extensive study on Noxious plants and weed control. I believe that paper listed changes in wind currents and the migratory routes of birds as two of the primary causes of weed infestation. Why isn't anyone concered about those? It explained that the wind currents were changing because of the increased concentrations of heat retaining structures in urban areas (urban sprawl) and the migratory patterns of some birds were changing for basically the same reasons. Both of these make more sense to me than overgrazing. Overgrazing may provide the proper preparation for the seed to take root, but it certainly doesn't bring the seed into an area.

Sometimes I think some of these kids fight just because they can.....

The cause is speculated on in the paper. I quoted the source. Figure out something to do about urban sprawl and too damned many people on the planet.... That's the only answer I could come up with, unless someone started demanding that houses be built more enviro-homogenous. I guess what it's saying is that the world is changing.

Somethings we can control, somethings we can't control. The important part is to learn the difference and work on the things we can control... There is no use in arguing points with people who will never change thier minds. You can't win and all you do is waste time and energy. Oh,, and raise hard feelings for yourself and others.

A heated discussion where both sides are open to change is great. I love it.. but I haven't seen one of those on this forum for about 3 months.. I guess everyone has thier own idea of fun though......

Ah, they're so cute at that age...

I agree Dan, nobody is going to 'win' the arguments that go on here. Those that are involved in them feel too strongly about what they're arguing. Sometimes that's why I give up trying to make a point, or don't jump in at all. But I also realize that there's a lot of folks reading that haven't formed an opinion yet. So if I can present a good argument, maybe I can keep them from going over to the dark side.

I only participate because I know I'm right.

Just like everyone else here. I don't know how much persuading goes on when we act like children, though.
