Columbia Fishing

Pretty fish, I wish I had a boat that could handle that end of the river. I did good on sockeyes on the summer run in the upper reaches, kids were having so much fun reeling them up I didn't spend much time targeting chinooks, figured I'd get some on sockeye gear but even with the good run somehow only hooked up with one native King I had to cut loose.

We only hit up the Sockeye this year. I may try for a trip down on the handford reach in Oct. Looks a bit breezy out there @marshman But those are good looking fish.

Been off the grid for a few days fishing for Kings on the Columbia with a little bit of success. After 3 dismal years it seems the numbers are coming back a little, fingers crossed we do not want to lose fishing like this.View attachment 152464View attachment 152465

In picture #2. What we refer to as the "salmon chop stance". It seems like if it's rough water the salmon bite better.
