Colorado unit 27, 181 for deer

I was out getting the mail this evening and found a third season tag in the box. Not a bad deal. Just getting ready to look at some maps and try to make heads or tails of these units. I see quite a bit of BLM, but I hear it is like a pumpkin patch during hunting season. I was wondering if anyone has hunted this unit and how did you do. Thanks, Andy

Big Slick... I got a leftover doe tag for these units yesterday as well. Never been to the area so I will be making some calls to some local college buddies and studying maps as well. If I get any valuable information, I will pass it along!

2nd rifle meat tag

I am heading to 181 for 2nd rifle doe. Never hunted there before, so I'm in the "finding out where NOT to go" stage. Lots of BLM.
Any info I see/hear I will pass along.
Also, anything I glean from my 2nd season hunt I will post back hear.
I love pesole, btw...

Forest Service Roads

Have any of you been on the forest service roads? There seem to be some pretty decent forest service and county roads but obviously will depend on snow. With that said, I will be in a crew cab long bed pickup so don't have a lot of options for turning around without getting western with it. Any thoughts? Also talked with a few people for advice and am thinking about a leftover cow tag. Thoughts?
