Is it worth bringing my shotgun through Colorado in September, to make use of the small game license for PPs?

Sharpies, depends on where you will be in CO. Probably not worth it.
Duskies, maybe yes.

NE of Ft Collins in September you are SOL in CO for birds I believe, except doves. Only sharpie season in CO is in the NW corner.

Depending on when and what you like hunting I believe doves are in season and there is a teal season in September too.

Id imagine you could find some sharpies in the Pawnee National Grasslands if you put on some miles. I run into em just North in SE Wyoming from time to time.
