Colorado Points & No Man's Land Recommendation

4 points for a cow elk hunt? Why does that make me uneasy?
I don’t know...hunting 61, even for a cow, can be a great experience. You would see lots of elk, few hunters and some good bulls. I do it every second or third year. I’ve already shot enough bulls. The bulls were still bugling pretty good third season this year, that’s something you won’t hear much of in an OTC unit.

What you describe sounds awesome, but I have never shot a bull. I wish that weren't so, but it is and I won't shoot a bull if I don't apply for a bull. So I guess I need to ask myself if I am after the antlers or if I am after the meat. Tough decision for me.

I understand. Use the points on a muzzleloader hunt?

Good idea. I will check with GoHunt or TopRut to see what is available. I think for now, I am leaning towards making 2020 a deer year (Colorado and South Dakota) and going elk from here on out. I have good deer (whitetail) hunting around me in Indiana. Not sure I will put in for anymore points for deer out west after I burn the points.
