Why did this clown not receive any jail time? A lifetime ban by the State, that's it.

Jeff Bodnar of Hartsel, Colo., was arrested and charged with 22 crimes related to illegal hunting and trapping activities, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Northeast region shared in a press release.

Bodnar has been the subject of illegal hunting investigations before. In 2008, he was convicted of conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act of 1900, which prohibits selling or trading wildlife or fish that has been possessed illegally, and received 27 months in federal prison.

Mr. Bodnar appears to possess a complete disregard for Colorado's hunting laws and a total indifference for wildlife," said wildlife officer Ian Petkash. "We take these investigations seriously because of the toll someone like this can take on local wildlife populations.

Serious investigations though not in the least serious consequences... Lacey Act with bobcats 27 months Fed Pen and now this. There something more we don't know? A petty lifetime ban? After caught while currently suspended?

His prior conviction, jail time, and suspension didn't make him change his ways, so I doubt this is the last we hear about him.

27 months federal prison didn't do it for him? Although maybe he didn't actually have to stay for very much of it but still. There was a pedophile in my neighborhood who didn't have to serve any actual prison time.

You guys are right...suspension of privileges wont affect his propensity to engage in this behavior. How many people are on the news arrested for Driving under Suspension? Glad they caught him but the penalties should have some teeth.

DA's don't get re-elected on wildlife crimes. Prosecutors will plead down the charges so they can spend more time on the sexy stuff that gets attention.

Not like he had a license so taking away his ability to buy something he wasn't using sounds like a good deterrent. 27 months in club fed might get his attention
