CO unit 501 archery elk

Hey all -

With opening weekend fast approaching, I was wondering if anyone out there is going to be hunting in unit 501 this season for archery. I will be there on opening weekend and was wondering if anyone out there would want to team up. I will be hunting solo and have some area's marked (so not really looking for any advice). Just wondering if anyone out there would like to team up and become future hunting buddies!

For what it is worth, I am a Colorado resident and hunt elk every archery season. I am an avid backpacker and a good hiker who isnt afraid of going miles upon miles to find the animals.

Thanks Aerosmith! I'm excited to just be spending some time out of an OTC unit. You know, you don't need a tag to come hang out with me!

Hey I’m looking at putting in for this unit for first rifle in 2025. From experience do you think it’s worth burning points?

Honestly, I dont have much experience to speak of. That time of year, the elk are in a different location. They could be further down and in the burned areas so you might have an easier time finding them? You could always look at the success rates and see if you think it is worth it. I enjoyed it for archery season but I might try and go next door to 500 next time.
