With a baby expected at the end of October (yes I know, very poor timing), I wasn't sure if I would be able to get out and try to fill my deer tag this fall.
With things ok at home, I headed out the first day of second season and ended up dropping this fella in his tracks by 7am, after a mile hike from the truck, with a 150 yard shot through the aspens.
I would have been happy with a chance at just about any buck, but am sure happy I saw him before the two smaller ones he was running with.

Sweet looking buck. Next to no deductions on that guy.

I was wondering what you have been up to this fall.

Nice looking buck, congrats. He's got great forks all the way around.

Thanks guys.
I found several bucks in this pocket a few weeks before, including a 30"+ with baseball bat bases, but all 4 points were less than 6" long... wierd loking fella. Never had seen one like that before.
Anyway, thought I would add a frontal picture to show how symmetric this guy is. Oak has a good eye, almost no deductions.
Cheers
