I'd hardly consider Carmel a political aptitude test, although he's probably more capable than most of the folks who've been elected recently...they do have some great seafood at Flaherty's though. My grandad was mayor of the town of Solvang for an entire 7 minutes because the big guy was late for a vote, he even has a great commemorative gavel they gave him as a gag, he always said that was enough politics for him
