Carnivore Diet Options While Hunting

Keep plugging away at it if it’s work for you. The human body is a interesting thing good for you

Jesus guys i just wanted to know if I should plan to pack 10 pounds of string cheese and jerky or if anyone had any good ideas. Didn't need a whole lecture on why I shouldn't do what I want with my body. Next thing I know you're going to to tell me I shouldn't drink water because people drown sometimes. I did research before I started. If it wasn't agreeing with my body I would have stopped.
It's funny how when some people hear carnivore they get triggered....look into nick norwitz he is doing some interesting stuff in the keto space. the frozen steak bricks work really well for about 7 days worth of steak.

I've done carnivore several times for up to 3 months at a time before. Several things i have noticed and found.
1) it's a pain for packing snacks but boiled eggs, sausage, jerky (being careful about sugar content if it is commercially produced) and cheese (as long as you don't eat too much or your body can react as if you are feeding it sugar in some instances)and cooked bacon were my go to for day trips.
2) its hard to keep real food like eggs or cooked meat from spoiling without some sort of source of cold which inherently adds weight.
3) I actually quit carnivore specifically for a backpacking trip because I couldn't find anything freeze dried that didn't have an ungodly amput of carbs in it. So a came off 3 months of carnivore for the convenience of freeze dried meals, however afterwards I was talking to a friend of mine who owns several commercial dehydrators he told me in the future I could try using his equipment to freeze meals, the only drawback was that through his experience that fatty foods don't freeze dry well specifically beef fat.the next time I do Carnivore I will definitely be trying some eggs and meat freeze drying with him.
4) I also saw nothing but benefits and if you educate yourself well then it's pretty easy to safely do it, electrolytes are key for me especially when hiking. Protein powders are always an option if you do the carnivore ones or I have also used the MOLK protein when doing a relaxed carnivore.

I hope something in the above rambling helps. I know several people who have benefitted from carnivore immensely.

I did carnivore from June 1st of 2024 tell Oct hunting season and then got sloppy with it, definitely felt better eating carnivore. My wife started it at the same time and stayed with it until the holidays then decided to change at the new year to a very limited but healthy diet, mostly protein, cheese, eggs with some avocados, salads, berries, and felt horrible even after a couple months of a healthy diet but not carnivore. She had some huge medical benefits to doing carnivore and so we went back to carnivore in March and doubt we will look back. In the short time she gained back ten pounds and is now trying to get it back off it seems for her and I to be stabilized weight now instead of loosing weight like we had previously, which is fine for me being in 6’4” and at my lowest on carnivore was down to 166 pounds but now I’m a healthier stronger weight of 175. She on the other hand would like to loose and get back to where she was at when we started carnivore and wishes she would have never gone off of it.

The sthealth hunter with Ryan Lampers has a few episodes on it and so does the gritty podcast... There are about 4 or 5 of them that do it. They freeze dry a lot of their own stuff.

We don't have a freeze dried so we are dehydrating egg bakes and vacuum packing them. We will also cook bacon and take that with us in ziplock or vacuum sealed bags. They talk about "carnivore crack" which is bacon and butter but said it doesn't do well in warmer weather. We haven't tried it yet.

We have been vacuum sealing butter for coffee in the mornings and to put in beef broth for before bed. I am also going to try and dehydrate some meat to put in the broth and butter. There are a few freeze dried meals that are egg scrambles you can buy but I think it's a high cost for the calorie ratio.

We have not had any negative effects if we added raw nuts or all natural peanut butter. A lot of them have stuff added but there are a few brands we found that are good like Adam's. We have been testing things on short over night trips before we do anything crazy... I have taken peanut butter and butter, warmed it on the stove and than packaged in .25 pound packs. It's 8-900 calories per .25 pound if I recall correctly.

What does your doctor say about it? Cholesterol levels? Seriously curious. Idk if I could ever do it which in itself is telling how addicting the crap we consume is.
