Career Counseling

I quit my old job and made a lateral move in a slightly different field and I’ve been very happy I did. I’ve been working a lot less hours for the same pay with fewer responsibilities and less stress, and I actually have time to hunt and spend time with friends and family. The job I left is the one I went to school for, but I just could not have survived 30 years of it.

Interesting question, and real I'm curious to follow all of the responses. For me, work is the necessary evil to 1. provide for my family (current and future) 2. help others 3. pay for hobbies. I've never ascribed to the follow your heart philosophy of life... If I would have done that I would be divorced, broke, and hopeless.
So you would have been a guide if you had been irresponsible. 😁
