Just got back from a family camping trip near Ely NV. The creek next to the campground was full of hungry little Brook trout waiting to be caught all day long. There was a creek a few miles away that has lots of Browns willing to take a grasshopper. My son and I fished for hours and hours. I can't think of a better way to spend time with my son and the family.0712161205-00 (1).jpgDSCN0456.jpgDSCN0457.jpgDSCN0460 (1).jpgDSCN0434.jpgDSCN0477.jpg

Nice pics! Looks like a fun time.

I think the first fish pic is a redband trout or possibly a juvenile rainbow? Brook trout have wavy "spots" on their back, even as juveniles (with par marks on sides).

When I lived in MT all small trout were called brookies... rarely were they actually brookies. :D

That is what it is all about fishing, camp fires and families. I have taken my kids all over the world and what they remember when the talk about their childhood is all the camping and fishing we did at Fort Peck.

You are probably right about the fish not being a Brook trout. I found a pic of a Redband Trout which is native to NV and they look like the same fish. Either way the are really fun to catch.0712161205-00 (1).jpgJarbidge+010.jpg

Outstanding!
Camping, fishing, family, fires, and guitars - what a way to spend a weekend!
