So, I have a conference in Calgary in a couple of weeks (just before the Stampede), and one of my small groups is looking for a good brewery/pub/restaurant where we can have an informal get together in a relaxed atmosphere. I haven't been to Calgary in over a decade so my intel is old. Any suggestions?

@Dubz337 might be able to point you in the direction of the finest munchies locale.

If you're staying downtown, Craft Beer Market on 10th Ave is really good for a group. Solid food and lots of excellent beer options.

For actual breweries - Establishment and Cabin Brewing are my two favorites in Calgary proper. Both have mostly snacks for food, but Establishment is next to some food places. Cabin had good meat pies last I was there in March.

If, like many folks, Hazy/Modern IPA's are your thing, Eighty Eight brewing is making some great ones. Can't recall if they have food.

When my son and I were there in March, we walked past this place and I desperately want someone to go in and explain what a 'Podcast Bar' is: https://kaksbarpodcast.com/

Trolley 5 on 17th Ave sounds like it would be up your alley. Other places to check out on 17th would be One Night Stan's, National, and Whiskey Rose. Una is amazing pizza if you're more focused on food than drink. Big Cheese Poutinerie paired with a Clive burger (right beside each other) on 17th if you're looking for some good ballast before a night on the town. Looking for a little more Mexican flavor, Anejo on 4th St. just a couple blocks away is great. If you wanna get fancy, Major Tom's at the top of Stephen Ave Place is a good time, or Hy's steakhouse for a great steak and being able to hang out with lawyers high on coke. Don't be tricked into going to the Ship and Anchor, its terrible. Don't be tricked into going to Peter's, you can make a better burger at home. If you're set on a brewery, I'd recommend Cold Garden, its a bit out of downtown though.
