Buy new duck decoys or fix old ones

I finally bought some and talk about underwhelming. Paint job is C-, and the shape is an F for about 1/2 of the dozen. Droopy bills from shipping that won't straighten. I also got the Texas rigs for them, and talk about a PITA if you need to haul them in a pack.

Maybe I'll figure out the rigging better, and maybe they'll last forever, but serious buyers remorse after the first day.

I started out hunting ducks with faded out Quack decoys that I repainted. Only paid $1 a piece for them. My cousin and I found them in a money saver ad that was mailed to our houses before Craigslist and FB marketplace gained traction. Bought them off a retired Chesapeake Bay guide that was living in Charlotte. He had all the decoys piled in a bathtub in the spare room of his apartment which was a little weird but we bought a couple dozen of them. He was fairly drunk when we got there and insisted on showing us his gun collection which made me a little nervous especially since I didn't know if they were loaded while he was pointing them in all directions but we survived the strange encounter and got out of there. I ended up buying better decoys over the years but I found these when I moved into a new house back in September.
