Driving back to the highway after a hike about 8:15, I spotted these.
Thought they were cattle @ 1st.

Watched all 30 follow the lead cow for 5 min until they ran out of sight, leaving a cloud of dust. I was a half mile away, they were leery. I hadn't driven 20 feet after watching the elk, and this guy waddles across the road, stands next to his den and stares me down.

Drove another hundred yards and there are 5 muleys between the road and a range fence. Too dark for pic, 2 were mature bucks. When they hopped into the pasture, 2 horses ran over to them. The cattle were oblivious. Moon tonight is almost dark, barometer is low, forecast is fair. Much more animal movement than usual for this time of year and stretch of road. To me its a jackpot.
