I’ve a group of 4 good friends who did this just before the pandemic. Life changing is how they spoke of the experience. Thanks for sharing Nemont.

Day 2 dawned bright and clear. After breakfast and tea we saddled up for the first long pull up hill. Joreselle to Namche is 2.5 miles but every step is up hill.

Me and that suspension bridge wouldn't get along real well.

Day three was a rest and acclimatize day in Namche.

Yeah it took awhile for me to get that one figured out. It was a HUGE fake tree on a huge wheeled wagon that was an offering to one of their gods. Seems there was a drought and this was supposed help end the drought. Only problem is that it toppled over a bit and it blocked the road.

Day 4 I departed Namche and the weather remained perfect. Going to Deboche about 7.5 miles and 1,600 feet higher but that only tells part of the story. In order to get to Deboche you drop almost 1,000 feet into a river valley and then it is up hill from there

Before I reach Deboche I get to the Monastery at Tengboche. It is a cool place!!!



Arrive in Deboche and our tea house was luxurious with hot showers and heated mattress pads!!!


I am not one to take pics of hotel rooms but at this elevation and zero roads it was amazing the investment these people made in building such a place



PS get used to the Kuiu camo and yes I was the only one wearing it on the whole trek.

Yeah it just took me an extra 3 years but it all came together. Had a really great bunch of people to trek with. Everyone was focused and easy to get along with. Made some lifelong friends

Day 5 Deboche to Dingboche, 6.8 miles of what the guides call Nepali Flat. Which means up and down all day but ending higher. Today they started taking our O2 saturation at dinner. I was at 92 which surprised my Nepali guide. He did it three times then asked why my 02 was so high?

Did you feel safe Doha? One of my fears is being in the Middle East. Obviously a lot of American travel last year with World Cup but it’s still a concern for me. Thanks for sharing, this is our #1 bucket list trip out of country

Doha is safe, clean and modern. I had zero worries there. You could stay right in the airport but I wanted to see the sights. The other airport that is easy to get to Kathmandu is through Dubai. Either city is safe. IMO.

I can't imagine the porters working in soccer glides (slip on sandals) on those trails.

Are you using the face covering for temps, sun exposure, or both?
